They originaly gave me an estimate, came out completed the job ... however the floors Kept moving.. when I looked under the house all the post had leaned and bent under pressure and also sank. When they came back out the manager blamed his crew for the support beams not working (Which I found unprofessional). He also said “he didn’t notice” all of the issues originaly and said I needed more posts (at my cost).
After that the problem should be solved but it’s not... (this has been almost a 2 year process due to long wait times for appointments at USS)
Would definitely use these guys again- no weird feeling that they're going to try and find something wrong-- I feel like we're on the same team!
Y’all really need to learn how to interview someone honestly
First I was impressed that we received a call back. Secondly, they emailed us a meeting request to confirm the time we'd spoken of. Thirdly, they called the morning of to confirm the appointment. Our representative was right on time--almost unheard of in construction/contracting!
I have contractors here at the moment trying to fix the problem once and for all. They explained the real issue to me and how the solutions provided by USS weren’t going to fix the actual problem.
So my advice is to get an actual structural engineer out and maybe even some contractors to properly assess the damage before hiring this company if you hire them at all. I personally wish that I had went with a different company all together.
Cannot review the service as I have not had it completed, didn't even get to the estimate phase. I needed to use email to communicate, not phone and stated that to Juanita in her email to me telling me she could not reach me by phone. I asked for an appointment in the coming week, her reply was there was not any avail and I needed to call the office to set an appointment. I believe the proper reply would have been more along the lines of 'we are booked until XX but we do have avail XX, or XX, or XX - which would be best for you'. I gave up due to superior firepower....
The worst part is I bought the house based on the estimate that USS provided.
We had USS come to our house for hairline cracks in the brick work. Person stated he was a structural engineer and we had $20,000 worth of structural damage. We then got a second opinion hired a structural engineer and he stated it was all cosmetic and would cost $500 to fix. Come to find out the person who came to our House from US S was just a sales person not a structural engineer. Please hire a structural engineer. USS sent a has sales person to give an estimates. Read other Google reviews with the same problem. Untrustworthy company. Beware do not use them.
Wouldn’t recommend using this company. The representititves are polite and nice but the project managers and the work quality is very sub-par.
The USS rep was professional and cordial, explained to us exactly what/how he would determine if there were any issues. Thankfully, after a complete explanation we all determined there was no problem.
We had a representative of USS come out to look at the house after we uncovered some rather unusual cracks in our concrete slab.
